Kentucky Support Network
If you are getting an abortion in Kentucky, or if you live in Kentucky and are traveling outside the state for your abortion, the Kentucky Support Network may be able to help you find the money you need or to offer you practical support (like transportation, a language interpreter, or a place to stay overnight.)
To get help from the Kentucky Support Network, call the confidential hotline number, above, and leave a message. Pleasue include your name and a phone number where you can be reached, and whether it is safe to leave you a message. If you need us to call only at a certain time of day out of safety and privacy concerns, please be sure to detail that in your message as well. A hotline volunteer will call you back within 24 hours.
Other services: language interpretation, language accessible hotline
The Kentucky Support Network is a program of the Kentucky Health Justice Network (KHJN). KHJN strives for all Kentucky communities and individuals to have power, access, and resources to be healthy and to have agency over our lives.
The Kentucky Health Justice Network was started in 2008 by volunteers, and remains a community-based, volunteer collective. With only two abortion clinics in the entire state, a 24-hour waiting period, and bans on insurance coverage of abortion (both public and private), there are significant obstacles to getting an abortion in Kentucky--obstacles that are even harder to navigate for minors, who need parental consent for abortion, for people who speak no or limited English, and for low-income women of all ages.
The Kentucky Support Network helps to remove these obstacles, offering a wide range of support services in a respectful, non-judgmental environment.
In 2015, Kentucky Support Network raised over $12,000 in their third annual Bowl-a-Thon!
For abortion funds, raising money is half the battle, because they can't help unless they have something to give. Donating to your local abortion fund means giving a woman the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
