Where are we doing work to increase abortion access?

The National Network of Abortion Funds is working hard in your community to make sure that all women have access to the abortion care they seek…
…so that they can take care of their families
…so that they can finish school
…so that they can keep their jobs
…so that they can safeguard their health
…so that they can keep working towards their dreams.
We do work on the local level by keeping abortion funds strong.
We do work on the national level by partnering with other organizations to fight against other unfair policies, working to repeal the Hyde Amendment.
We also team up with abortion funds to help them work to change the policies in their states.
In fifteen states, Medicaid programs cover abortion care using state money (since the Hyde Amendment prevents federal money from doing so). We are working to protect these programs from attack in several states.
In California, we are working with one of our abortion funds to make sure that health care reform won’t leave immigrant women without abortion coverage.
In Massachusetts, we are working with three abortion funds to make the Medicaid system more effective for women living in poverty.
In Virginia, we are working with one of our abortion funds to make abortion more accessible for women living in jail.
In Illinois, we are supporting the work of the Chicago Abortion Fund’s My Voice My Choice Leadership Circle.  Through this program, the Chicago Abortion Fund is developing the leadership skills of young women of color who have received abortion assistance.
