The Texas Equal Access Fund (TEA Fund) provides money to help pay for abortion care in North Texas, West Texas, and the Panhandle—click here to see a list of clinics that work with the TEA Fund. To use the TEA Fund you must be at least 8 weeks pregnant. Call the toll-free number and someone will call you back within a few hours.
The Texas Equal Access Fund recognizes that many women in North Texas who would choose abortion are unable to because of financial hardship, social pressure, or a lack of local providers. They believe that the right to reproductive choice is denied when women are unable to access abortion services, and are dedicated to helping women who want an abortion but do not have enough money to pay for it.
Last year, the TEA Fund helped over 900 women who would not have otherwise been able to afford an abortion. Their hotline provides a safe and confidential connection to financial assistance that may help a woman access healthcare services often restricted by today’s political climate around abortion. Their volunteers work with area health clinics that also supply birth control and other reproductive health information and services.
The TEA Fund has collected hundreds of moving stories from the women who have called and received help—click here to read a few.
For abortion funds, raising money is half the battle, because they can’t help women unless they have something to give. Donating to your local abortion fund means giving a woman the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
