Kentucky Support Network
If you are getting an abortion in Kentucky, or if you live in Kentucky and are traveling outside the state for your abortion, the Kentucky Support Network may be able to help you find the money you need or to offer you practical support (like transportation, a language interpreter, or a place to stay overnight.)
To get help from the Kentucky Support Network, call the confidential hotline number, above, and leave a message with your name and a phone number where you can be reached. A hotline volunteer will call you back within 24 hours. If you need them to call only at a certain time of day out of safety and privacy concerns, please be sure to detail that in your message and the volunteers will do their best to call during that time.
Other services: language interpretation, language accessible hotline
The Kentucky Support Network is a program of the Kentucky Health Justice Network that connects people in Kentucky to reproductive health care information and services. The Kentucky Health Justice Network is working towards a world in which all Kentuckians are empowered to make decisions over their lives.
The Kentucky Health Justice Network was started in 2008 by volunteers, and remains a community-based, volunteer collective. With only two abortion clinics in the entire state, a 24-hour waiting period, and bans on insurance coverage of abortion (both public and private), there are significant obstacles to getting an abortion in Kentucky--obstacles that are even harder to navigate for minors, who need parental consent for abortion, and for low-income women of all ages.
The Kentucky Support Network helps to remove these obstacles, offering a wide range of support services in a respectul, non-judgmental environment.
In 2013, the Kentucky Support Network participated in the National Abortion Access Bowl-a-Thon for the first time, blasting past their goal of $6,000 to raise nearly $7,000 for abortion access in Kentucky!
For abortion funds, raising money is half the battle, because they can't help unless they have something to give. Donating to your local abortion fund means giving a woman the resources she needs to make the choice that is right for her.
